What Are ACCIÓ’s Internationalization Grants?

ACCIÓ is the public agency of the Government of Catalonia focused on boosting business competitiveness, with a special emphasis on innovation and internationalization. Through a range of grants, programs, and personalized services, ACCIÓ helps Catalan companies expand into international markets.

Among the most important tools available in 2025 are two key programs:

• One focused on supporting the opening of new subsidiaries abroad, facilitating business multilocalization.

• Another aimed at international promotion—both physical and digital—to enhance the global positioning of products and services.

These grants are designed to help Catalan businesses increase international presence, strengthen global operations, and improve commercial capacity outside Spain.

Grants for Multilocalization

The International Multilocalization Program by ACCIÓ aims to facilitate the setup of Catalan companies in foreign markets through the creation or acquisition of productive, commercial, or service-based subsidiaries.

What does the grant cover?

The funding can reach up to €80,000 per company, covering up to 50% of the initial costs associated with international setup, including:

• Hiring of local staff

• External consultancy and advisory services

• Rental of premises and office space

• Other expenses related to the subsidiary launch

What are the eligibility criteria?

• Registered headquarters in Catalonia and at least two years of billing history

• Minimum turnover of €1,000,000 (productive subsidiary) or €500,000 (commercial, logistics, or service subsidiary)

• The project must pass a competitive evaluation process

In addition to financial support, ACCIÓ provides technical guidance and the possibility of leveraging its international offices throughout the expansion process.

Grants for International Promotion

Already operating internationally and looking to consolidate or grow? The International Promotion Grants are designed to boost your sales outside Spain through both digital and in-person actions.

What expenses can be covered?

With grants of up to €30,000, companies can cover 50% of the following costs:

• Development of multilingual websites or online stores

• Digital marketing campaigns targeting foreign markets

• Participation in global marketplaces or international directories

• Attendance at trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses, and business events

• Certifications, approvals, or international trademark registrations

Who can apply?

• Catalan companies with a minimum turnover of €500,000

• A website in a foreign language

• An international promotion plan developed from 2023 onwards
