The Spanish Tax Agency has already confirmed the official calendar for the 2025-2026 Income Tax Campaign, one of the most important tax events of the year for millions of taxpayers in Spain.
Although the campaign still starts in a few months, knowing the dates, deadlines, and main obligations in advance allows you to better plan your tax return, avoid mistakes, and anticipate potential issues—especially in more complex employment or asset situations.
Official Dates for the 2025-2026 Income Tax Campaign
The campaign will start on **April 8, 2026**, and end on June 30th, 2026, according to the calendar published by the Tax Agency. Here are the key dates to keep in mind:
- April 8 to June 30, 2026: Filing returns online or via the Tax Agency app.
- May 6 to June 30, 2026: Filing by phone through the “We Call You” plan (by appointment).
- June 1 to June 30, 2026: In-person filing at Tax Agency offices (by appointment).

Ways to File Your Tax Return
As in previous campaigns, taxpayers can choose from several methods:
- Online or App filing. From the first day of the campaign, the Renta Web draft will be available, which should be carefully reviewed before submission.
- Phone filing. The Tax Agency prepares the return through the “We Call You” plan, upon prior appointment.
- In-person filing. Assistance at offices for those who prefer direct support, also by prior appointment.
What About Pending Refunds from Previous Campaigns?
According to the latest available data, the Tax Agency has already processed the vast majority of refunds from the previous campaign, although a small percentage is still pending.
It is important to remember:
- The legal maximum period to process a refund is six months from the end of the campaign.
- If the refund is delayed beyond this period, the Tax Agency must pay late payment interest to the taxpayer.
